The Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL, at the moment, are besieged by multiple speculations and leak stories. And the only thing that is confirmed till now is the release date! Google is all set to officially unveil its latest Pixel iterations (3 and 3XL) on October 9 in the New York City. Just less than a month away, this release event is the most anticipated one for both, tech enthusiasts and smartphone users across the world.

Design
In the past few weeks, the leaks of the Pixel 3 XL have been rife on the Internet. The latest one came in when an individual left behind their Pixel 3 XL in the back of a Lyft car. Consequently, the Lyft driver returned the phone to its owner but not without taking some pictures. The pictures of the unreleased Pixel 3 prototype were then sent to a popular technology website, resulting in a major furor on several digital platforms. Prior to the Lyft blunder, the Google Pixel 3 XL unboxing by a Russian YouTube channel seemed to have sparked an enormous buzz concerning the design and other specifications.

Speaking of its design, we now know that Pixel 3 XL’s screen exhibits an edge-to-edge display with a tall notch on the top along with a dual front-facing camera. So far there has been no sign of a notch on the screen of Pixel 3. The rear, on the other hand, will be equipped with a single lens camera and central fingerprint scanner. Moreover, there’s a likelihood that its aluminum body may be switched with a glass one which makes total sense as there is a word on the street that Google might introduce Pixel Stand, a wireless charging pad. A few reports also hint that Pixel 3 XL’s screen will be approximately 6.71 inches big, boasting a resolution of 1440 x 2960.

Specifications
There have been some huge leaks about the Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL, however, they have revealed more about the design rather than performance-related specifications. At this point, we know that the phone will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with 4GB of RAM and an internal storage of up to 128GB. Moreover, there’s a chance for one of the Pixel models to house 6GB RAM. The Pixel 3 is speculated to have a 2,915mAh battery, whereas the Pixel XL model is estimated to equip a 3,430mAh battery. If true, the latter’s battery capacity will project a considerable downgrade when compared to the previous iteration – the Pixel 2 XL, which was furnished with a 3,520mAh battery.

Camera
The Google Pixel 2 is still regarded to have one of the best smartphone cameras in the industry and plans to keep it that way. The technology giant has decided to stick with the single lens for its rear camera, which can come as a surprise, as most other manufacturers have moved to the dual-camera setup on the rear side. Google Pixel 3 phones will apparently have a 12.2MP rear camera, whereas the front camera will have two sensors of 8.1MP each.

Although Google has furnished its rear camera with a single lens, it is hoping to impress its users with some additional features such as a brand-new Visual Core chip that might be instrumental in elevating the overall picture-making experience. Also, it is speculated that the makers have redesigned the camera apps so that the users can explore modes through the carousel. Furthermore, the face retouching function in portrait mode is said to have some rework done and now comprises a natural option.

Price
The prices of the latest Google Pixel phones are expected to be similar to its predecessors. The Pixel 2 was sold at around $650 during the launch, whereas the Pixel 2 XL was sold at around $850. Based on the leaked information, most tech experts estimate that the price range of the current models should ideally fall anywhere between $700 and $900. However, we won’t be shocked if the price crosses the $1000 threshold. This is possible if there are some game-changing features still under wraps.

The phone will be made available in the stores a few weeks after it is unveiled. However, the details for pre-orders will be announced shortly after the reveal in New York City.

Is there a third phone in the picture?
Apart from the rumors regarding Pixel 3 and 3 XL, there also have been unconfirmed reports about Google planning to launch the third iteration in the Pixel line that will be based on the Snapdragon 710. Some tech sources imply that this phone will fall more under the mid-range level, unlike Google premium flagship devices so far. Wondering when it is releasing? It most likely won’t be launching with Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL. Certain stories suggest that this model will be making its way into the market in the first half of 2019.
